Questions about Marmelade Cat Skins and their installation
What is a Skin?
A skin is an ultra-precise film made for your device. It protects your device from scratches while barely changing its ergonomics. You can choose from a wide variety of designs.
Is it difficult to apply the wrap?
There is no need to worry about installation. The best place to start is our installation video here. If you still have questions, our support team will be happy to help.
I found Skins with a similar design online. Are they the same as yours?
Some of our films are designed by our suppliers, 3M and Orafol, and are not exclusive to us. However, we manufacture all our skins in Frankfurt, allowing us to guarantee an excellent fit and legendary support.
Even when designs look identical, that does not necessarily mean the film is the same. We enhance some films—such as Hive—with air-release channels. Other designs, including Peak and Vortex, are created by us and available exclusively from Marmelade Cat.
Is the device still compatible with other accessories after installing the skin?
Yes. Your device will generally remain compatible with accessories after installation. Compatibility depends on the accessory you use and the skin you choose.
Most standard protective cases, mounts, and sleeves work without any problems as long as the skin has been installed cleanly and the edges have been heat-activated and pressed down firmly.
MagSafe and magnetic mounts work as usual with our Prestige Skins. Nature Skins made from real stone can noticeably reduce MagSafe strength because the material increases the distance from the magnet. If you use MagSafe in your car or with a mount, we therefore recommend a Prestige Skin.
If you are unsure, tell us which device and accessory you use and we will confirm whether they are compatible.
Is the skin removable without residue?
Yes, of course. If you want to remove the skin, simply peel it off. In rare cases, a small amount of adhesive residue may remain, but it can easily be removed with a cleaning cloth.
Can I remove and reapply the skin?
Yes and no. The skin has a memory effect and can return to its original shape after being warmed with a hairdryer. If you want to reuse it, remove it very carefully and slowly so the material does not tear.
Does the skin have influence on the internet reception of my iPhone?
No.
Does the skin come off on contact with water?
No. Rain or brief contact with water will not cause the skin to peel off. However, for the sake of your device, we recommend avoiding unnecessary contact with water.
I've applied the Skin and the corners look wavy and uneven. What can I do?
Don't worry. Small ripples can sometimes form when applying the tabs. If warming them with a hairdryer and rubbing them with the microfiber cloth does not smooth them out, lift the tab from the corner and apply it again.
I accidentally tore my skin apart during the installation. What can I do now?
Our skins are highly durable and should not be damaged if you follow our instructions.

How long does shipping take?
We aim to dispatch in-stock orders placed before 10 a.m. on the same business day. We currently ship exclusively with Deutsche Post, which estimates delivery within Germany in two business days.
Which payment methods are accepted?
We want checkout to be as convenient as possible and support a wide range of payment methods:

Shipping to Germany:

Can I return my Skin?
You may exercise your right of withdrawal within 30 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason. Simply contact us in whichever way is most convenient for you. Go to the contact form.
